Show me the money
Want to make an easy $50,000? You must first meet certain criteria. First and foremost, you must be female. The stakes are high, but you might be able to make some fast money!
To be eligible, you must be:
- Female
- Caucasian
- 5′6″ or taller
- Attractive (modeling experience is a plus)
- At least 18 years old and no more than 30
- Intelligent (graduation from a top 100 college is a plus)
- Atheletic (preferably at college or professional level)
- Good genes (no underlying medical issues)
Lastly, but definitely not least, you must be willing to part with your eggs! Not the hen eggs you use for cooking, but your own eggs, female gametes, used in the reproduction of babies!
Designer babies …
I first found an ad similar to this a few months ago at http://elitedonors.com. I was horrified that people would go to these extremes to create the “perfect baby.” And, sadly, I could see the appeal from the other side of the table for the single woman needing to make fast money without succumbing to the evils of prostitution.
Easy to be critical …
I am proud to say that I did not fit the the strict requirements for the “perfect baby” egg donor, so I did not apply. As a result, it makes it easier for me to criticize now!
I spent the last few months thinking about the business of egg donating. I started making a mental list of cons. I was surprised to find that I did not have as many as I thought I would. I mean … do we really need to bring any more ugly, dumb babies into this world? Don’t we already have more than enough?
My biggest rant on this whole issue is that smart babies should not cost money. This still makes ugly, dumb babies more widespread. Another con is that this only solves half of the problem. If the sperm comes from a poor specimen of the male population, all hope is lost in creating the “perfect baby.” So, if we take out those two obstacles, we might be onto something …

The egg donating business can be quite sleazy! I was rolling with laughter as I came across site after site filled with profiles of women wishing to make money. Are these dating sites or donor sites? Does this site confuse anyone else other than me? Maybe this is more closely related to prostitution than I realized …
I am toying with the idea of creating a profile just to see what interested parties would have to say … it could make for an interesting update blog!
Anyone have any ideas on how we use this ”perfect baby” experiment to our advantage? I would love to hear your thoughts!

You can get more if you happen to be Jewish, because Orthodox Jews say only children of Jewish mothers can be Jewish by birth. Otherwise, one has to go through an arduous conversion process. This is also why private adoption of Jewish babies from Israel is big buisiness.
Hey, your clock is ticking if you want to cash in on this, but consider:
Only people without allergies, any family history of mental illness, cancer, heart disease, and a list of 100 other diseases, and only people who have never smoked tobacco or drunk beer, never used drugs or listened to rap, or done anything stupid or dangerous — need apply.
We can select down to a perfect race which is healthy, everyone has 20/20 vision, everyone is beautiful - but who decides? Are all races beautiful? What about smart? Would we toss out Van Gogh, Einstein, and others on the basis of a standardized test?
But we might accidentally keep Jack the Ripper, Saddam Hussein, Stalin, and other blights on the face of mankind because they do pass the test. How do we breed them out?
All seems pretty complicated when you really try to work it out. I think maybe we solve the whole problem by sterilizing everyone. That way there won’t be anyone in 60 years to be unhappy with the result. The grass will grow, trees will remain tall, and the planet will rivert to its natural ice age state without anyone’s meddling.
Oh my, I better go take my medicine. I think I may be hearing voices already… Excuse me, there is a pink elephant that wondered in the room, I have to tend to it now.
I don’t really want to donate my eggs. I know that there are too many mental and physical ailments that I could pass to a child. However, I just want to see how it works. It seems so amusing to me
I think you should watch the movie Gattica again. It touches on the points of creating a perfect child and the effects it has on society.
I might should watch it for the first time before I watch it “again”! I crack myself up. How did I get to be so funny? Don’t answer that. I will definitely check it out, Stephanie.
