We must never give up hope. Hope powers dreams and desires. It is the fuel that keeps us alive. Even when a cloud lingers longer than it should, welcome it with a smile. Rain is necessary – it cleanses the land and brings needed water to the plants for growth and renewal.

I am temporarily distracted as I drive down the highway of life. I crash through a road block. I fail to notice the many signs with “Wrong Way” written in big, bold letters.

Maybe you went left when you were supposed to go right. It may be a simple change in your route, but what if it completely alters the rest of your drive? Instead of driving the easy and breezy scenic route, you are now on the fast track to arrive at your destination before you were meant to be there. What if the new route leads you to a completely different destination?

What will you change about your life this year?

Each year we all vow to change something about our lives or ourselves. Some of us choose to go on a diet and lose that last 10 pounds. Others decide it is time to pay off debt or find a better paying job.

Some people may view the new year as a time to change. I see it as a way for us to keep holding off making change. We do not need an event or a day to make ourselves better. This should be happening every day of our lives. If we depend on a single day to make a change in our lives, then we will never change.

Relax?

Until recently, “relax” has always been synonymous for “lazy” in my mind. I have always preferred to spend my time more constructively. I would try to relax, but I would find at least 500 things that have to be done at that very moment or else life would cease to exist.  Read more
